The chapter advisors are a National Junior Honor Society chapter's primary facilitators, a key factor in determining a chapter's success. Chapter advisors are appointed yearly, must be members of the school faculty, and may be reappointed to serve additional terms.
The officers may meet as often as twice a week to plan and discuss upcoming meetings and the management of the NJHS. Officers must be willing to speak to NJHS members during meetings and in front of new NJHS members' families at the induction ceremony. Officers must be able to devote some time outside of school to research volunteer opportunities and projects, maintain the website, update the service hour database and communicate with community organizations. This is in addition to the usual service requirements and goals for all members. |
Eighth graders are eligible to campaign for one or more of our officer positions, which include president, vice president, treasurer, historian, and secretary. If you are interested in campaigning for one or more of these positions, please write your persuasive campaign letter, indicate the position(s) you’re interested in and give it to me by October 30th.
Included below are campaign speech examples.
